SHOP LABOURER LOCATION: SHERWOOD PARK, AB
POSITION STATUS: Permanent, Full-time
Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Shop Foreman, this position is responsible for performing a wide variety of general labour tasks.
Key Responsibility Areas:
· Performing internal repair on pipe, including grinding pipe and flange faces.
· Performing hydro testing of pipe within shop environment
· Gathering and emptying both sanitary and industrial waste, as well as recycled material
· Performing labour duties including but not limited to: carrying, lifting, stacking of materials, loading and unloading supplies
· Ensuring equipment and tools are stored in a safe and secure manner
· Making certain buildings and facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly manner
· Providing manual labour assistance on various tasks and assignments
· Making sure vehicles, equipment, tools and paperwork are kept clean and organized
· Operating all equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policy and procedures; this includes but not limited to light duty vehicles, drills, pressure washers and forklifts
· Participating and cooperating in daily toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
· Self-motivated, works well independently and as part of a team
· Adapts easily to changes in job priorities and meeting deadlines
· Organized, dependable, hard-working and punctual
· Physically fit to perform labour intensive work
· Detail Orientated
· Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and build strong relationships.
