Our programing provides a wide range of specialized outpatient services designed to address problems associated with addictions or problem gambling. Our organization is involved in exciting new program developments, including the establishment of formal partnerships with our local community mental health programs to promote clinical integration with clinicians. About This Position

The Addictions Therapist serves as the primary contact for clients with substance use, abuse or dependency problems, or problem gambling issues. Treatment models could include individual or group cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing or stepped-care approaches. Intensive case management skills are also required. The Addictions Therapist is responsible for guiding the client in his/her treatment plan through to eventual discharge or even post-treatment.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a university degree in psychology, social work, behavioural sciences or in a related field. A specialization in substance abuse and problem gambling, as well as two years experience, would be an asset.

Experience and interest in working with youth (16 –24 years of age) preferred 

The applicants should also be fluent in both French and English, have a valid Ontario driver’s license, be organized and autonomous, and have good team-work capabilities.
